The 7 Days in Myanmar launch was held at Chatrium Hotel. Editions Didier Millet, the publisher behind the project, has completed similar projects throughout Southeast Asia since the 1980s. Countries that have been featured include Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.
7 Days in Myanmar: A Multimedia Showcase is being undertaken to to honour Myanmar assuming the chair of ASEAN in 2014.
7 Days is a unique project that will see30 of the world’s leading photographers travel the country for one week, capturing unforgettable images of Myanmar’s people, landscapes, industries and traditions. At the beginning of the book, a rich glimpse into Burmese history will be provided through rare archival illustrations of the country that will be described by John Falconer. Further introduction to the country will be provided by an introduction to the country by the distinguished Southeast Asia expert and journalist, Denis Gray.
The centrepiece of the project will be the book, 7 Days in Myanmar, a spectacular large-format coffee-table book offering a portrait of Myanmar at this historic moment in time. The book will be launched in December 2013.
